TROPICAL WINTER GETAWAY

Santosha Retreat in Thailand

A balanced holiday of yoga practice and sightseeng
with Tijana and Nevena

Imagine starting your year with a journey to Thailand, where a blend of spiritual adventure awaits you—between mountains and beaches.

Santosha Retreat is thoughtfully designed as a balanced fusion of exploring Thailand’s cultural heritage and natural beauty, combined with the practice of yoga and meditation. We believe this kind of experience is the perfect nourishment for body, mind, and spirit.

Santosha means contentment, happiness, and the deep peace that comes from a satisfied mind. Our intention is for this journey to be an opportunity to practice filling your days with meaningful activities—without the mind pulling you toward the chase for something better, more exciting, or more exhilarating.

A meditative mind reflects a strong spirit and centered awareness, where santosha becomes easily accessible, regardless of external circumstances.

Begin and close each day in the rhythm of yoga.

Each day will begin with energizing yoga asanas, pranayama, and meditation—gathering energy for the adventures ahead.
We’ll wind down in the evenings with a more relaxing yoga practice, designed to calm the body and mind, preparing us for deep and restful sleep.

We’ve prepared a selection of engaging and memorable outings for you.

Golden Monk

On the second day, we’ll visit the impressive giant statue of the Golden Monk and take a peaceful walk through the surrounding park.

The majority of Thailand’s population practices Buddhism, and monks are a highly respected part of society. There is a traditional division of roles, where monks are seen as meditating on behalf of the entire community.

From the perspective of everyday life, the path of a Buddhist monk may seem austere. They have no personal income, live in modest conditions, wear simple saffron robes, often walk barefoot, and eat only when food is offered to them with generosity and respect. You’ll likely see many wandering monks during your time in Thailand—dedicated individuals sharing the Buddha’s message of liberation from suffering.

National Park Khao Yai

On the third day of the retreat, we’ll visit Khao Yai National Park—one of the largest and most renowned parks in Thailand.

Guided by a local expert, you’ll have the chance to observe wildlife in their natural habitat and explore a rich variety of tropical flora, including many species of wild orchids.

This is the jungle in its purest sense—calling you to immerse yourself in its wild beauty!

Shrine of the White Buddha

Day four is dedicated to visiting the Buddhist sanctuary Wat Phra Kao—a well-known pilgrimage site featuring an impressive 45-meter-high Buddha statue, set atop a hill reached by climbing over 600 steps.

It is said that monasteries and sacred sites were often built on elevated ground for a reason: the physical effort of ascending helps to quiet the scattered mind, bringing attention inward.
This natural rhythm of breath and movement prepares the body-mind system to enter a meditative state, opening space for the spirit to rise.

The Historic City of Ayutthaya

Ayutthaya is located about 80 kilometers north of Bangkok. Once the capital of the Kingdom of Siam, it was a thriving international trading port from 1350 until it was destroyed by the Burmese in 1767.

The ruins of the old city now form the Ayutthaya Historical Park, an archaeological site that includes ancient palaces, Buddhist temples, monasteries, and statues. The park is uniquely situated on an island surrounded by three rivers.

Ayutthaya is rightfully considered one of Thailand’s top tourist attractions.
The fifth day of the retreat is reserved for a full-day excursion to explore this unforgettable historic site.

Kho Larn

Koh Larn Island

From days seven to nine, we’ll stay on Koh Larn Island, a small island in the Gulf of Thailand opposite Pattaya, known for its beautiful white sandy beaches and turquoise waters.

Sanctuary of Truth

As the cherry on top, we’ve saved a special treat for the end—an evening visit to the Sanctuary of Truth in Pattaya, an extraordinary temple-museum of stunning carved wood architecture.

The Sanctuary of Truth is the largest all-wood building in Thailand, constructed entirely in the traditional ancient Thai woodworking style. Inside, you’ll find intricately carved wooden statues, walls, and pillars that tell stories about the philosophy of life. The artistic style used here is unique and brilliant—a true masterpiece of our time.

A spectacular building and unforgettable experience!
